My name is Raza Ali, a third year LLB student at the University of Sheffield and your LexisNexis Student Associate for 2021/2022.

Law school is known for its tough timetable, extensive legal study obligations, and challenging readings. Without the correct law school resources, the learning curve is steep and ordinary activities can be incredibly tiresome. Students require a user-friendly legal research tool, like those available from LexisNexis, that gives them the legal dexterity they need to tackle unfamiliar terminology.

LexisLibrary is a legal database that provides access to case law, legislation, journal articles, and more. This will come in handy when investigating legal authorities for academic research, applications for vacation schemes and training contracts, and in your future career as a lawyer.

You can come to me for guidance on how to use LexisNexis suite of tools, and ask any questions you may have. When it comes to obtaining the widely recognised LexisLibrary certifications, I am your first point of contact. These are available in two levels: Foundation and Advanced. Regular clinics will be held to provide free support and help to fellow students using LexisLibrary and LexisPSL. I can also give 1-on-1 sessions to you remotely or on campus while observing social distancing.

The majority of the top 100 UK law firms utilise LexisNexis products, so students interested in entering the legal profession should get the highly acclaimed LexisLibrary or LexisPSL certificates. The free certifications are quick to complete and make a great addition to your resume.
