The Midland Circuit is offering 5 funded mini-pupillages for students in higher education (18 years and over) from under-represented backgrounds. It is aimed at those who are from the Midlands or are currently studying within the area.
Successful candidates will be determined on merit by way of competency-based questions and will not be required to provide academic grades. They will also be asked to give some details of their personal background, their connection to the Midlands and why they wish to undertake a mini-pupillage.
The programme will arrange for a successful candidate to spend 3-5 days (subject to availability and individual requirements) at a Chambers on Circuit, hopefully in line with the candidates desired location and practice areas. The aim is for this to occur within the next academic year but this will be kept under review in light of the Covid-19 restrictions. They will then receive funding for travel, accommodation and other daily expenses, as required.
The deadline to apply has been extended to 2 October 2020 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and successful candidates will be notified by 16 October 2020.
